GS1 System
The GS1 System of Standards provides an integrated global standards system to identify (GS1 Identification Keys), capture (GS1 Data Carrier) and share (GS1 e-Com and GS1 Network) supply chain information and to allow visibility of the supply value chain. It provides a platform that facilitates the collaboration amongst trade partners and technology providers in order to jointly solve business challenges leveraging the GS1 standards, independent of computer platforms and programs, and to ensure visibility along the entire supply chain.
The GS1 System of global standards is user-driven – it is developed in collaboration with the users to address the user’s needs. It has been designed to be completely scalable – built to work for a small or a large company, a national or multinational company, companies with one product or hundreds of products.
The GS1 System of Standards is used in multiple sectors and industries such as retail and consumer goods, healthcare and transport and logistics.
